Tropics meet China

Today’s Tea: Teavana’s Rooibos Tropica and Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls

Combined by: caclob

I went to Bora Bora yesterday and smelled the tropical breezes.  Hints of citrus and flowers diffused through the air.  I also had a stop-over in China.  The strong, fragrant, and mystical  And all this was from the confines of my room.

Teavana has good teas that can stand on their own, like the Rooibos Chai or the White Peach.  But some of their teas teas work so much better when combined with one another.

The Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls, with its horrible name, at a relatively pricey $12 for 2 oz is a fine jasmine tea, but may be not the best or most enjoyable taste.  It’s a solid tea though.

The Rooibos Tropica is a fruity adventure, with little bits citrus and flowers floating along side solid rooibos.  The tea can be a little bitter, but it can stand on its own.

Putting these two together is a case of the the whole is better than the sum of its parts.  With a little bit of honey, to compensate for the bitterness inherent in jasmine teas and the rooibos tropica blend, the tea just blossoms into a fragrant, floral, but strong tea.

I’ll admit that I didn’t think of this combination myself.  It was the first tea I ever tasted from Teavana, and fell in love with it then.  I only recently actually combined them on my own, and I’m glad I did.

I wonder where my next Tea-vacation will be?
